What is Severance Pay in Turkey?
Severance pay (Kıdem Tazminatı) is a lump-sum payment given to an employee upon termination of the employment contract, provided they have worked for at least one year and the termination qualifies under Turkish Labor Law. It is calculated as 30 days' gross salary for each year of service.
2026 Severance Pay Cap
There is a legal cap on severance pay, which is updated every six months. Our calculator uses the estimated 2026 cap (around 45,000 - 50,000 TL). If your gross salary exceeds this cap, the calculation is based on the cap.
What is Notice Pay?
Notice pay (İhbar Tazminatı) is compensation paid if the employer (or employee) terminates the contract without giving the required notice period. The notice period ranges from 2 weeks to 8 weeks depending on the length of service.
