Emergency Steps: Using KADES

KADES is the official emergency app of the Turkish Police (EGM).

Application Process (Non-Emergency)

Option 1: Police Station (Karakol)

Go to the nearest police station (Family Violence Bureau).
Give your statement. They will issue immediate protection measures (e.g., Shelter) and forward the file to the Judge for a Restraining Order.

Option 2: Family Court (Aile Mahkemesi)

You (or your Attorney) file a petition directly to the Family Court Judge on duty.
Speed: The decision is usually written the same day.

Types of Measures Usually Granted

Suspension (Uzaklaştırma): The aggressor must leave the shared home immediately and cannot approach you (e.g., closer than 50 meters).
Contact Ban: No phone calls, no WhatsApp, no social media messages.
Weapon Surrender: If he is a police officer or has a gun license, his weapon is confiscated by the police.
No Alcohol: He cannot consume alcohol near you.

What If He Violates It? (Tazyik Hapsi)

This is the “teeth” of the law.

If the aggressor calls you or comes to your door while the order is active:
You call the police -> Keep a record.
