The salary allocated to surviving beneficiaries (Spouse, Children, Parents) in case of death of the insured is called “Death Pension”. It is popularly called “Widow Pension” for spouse and “Orphan Pension” for children.
1. Insurance Condition for Death Pension
For the deceased person’s salary to remain to their family:
- If 4/a (Insured): Must have been insured for at least 5 years and total 900 days premium must have been deposited. (Also retroactive borrowing cannot be done from date of death, 900 days is mandatory excluding borrowing).
- If 4/b (Bag-Kur) and 4/c (Civil Servant): Must have paid at least 1800 days premium.
2. Who Can Receive Salary? (Share Rates)
A) Spouse (Widow Pension)
- Allocated to legally married spouse (Male or female doesn’t matter).
- Receives salary even if working. Salary is cut if married.
- Rate: Receives 50% of salary if they have children. Receives 75% if no children (and not working).
B) Children (Orphan Pension)
- Male Child: Receives until 18 if not studying, 20 if High School, 25 if University. Cut after 25. (Unless disabled).
- Female Child: No age limit. Receives lifelong as long as not married and not working in an insured job.
- Rate: Each child receives 25% of salary.
C) Mother and Father
If money remains from spouse and children, and if income is below minimum wage, it can also be allocated to parents.
3. Dowry Money (Marriage Allowance)
If female children receiving orphan pension get married, 24 times (2 years amount) of the salary they receive is paid in cash as “Dowry Money” and salary is cut. (If divorced within 2 years, salary is not connected immediately, waiting for 2 years to expire).

Q: I divorced my husband, can I get my father’s salary? A: Yes. Divorced daughter returns to “Widow and Orphan” status and can have orphan pension allocated from her father (if conditions fit).
Q: Can salary be received from both mother and father? A: Yes. If statuses (SSK - Bagkur) are different, can be received from both in full/half rate. If statuses are same, higher one is preferred.
