Retirement system in Turkey is divided into 3 main periods according to your insurance start date. Conditions change completely according to which group you are in.

1. First Period: Before September 8, 1999 (EYT Members)

Those who have insurance entry before this date are covered by EYT (Delayed in Retirement Age).

Age Condition: REMOVED. (Age condition is not sought).
SSK (4/a): 5000 - 5975 days premium (Gradual) + 20/25 years insurance period.
Bag-Kur (4/b): Woman 7200, Man 9000 days premium. (Premium reduction in Bag-Kur has not been enacted yet).

2. Second Period: Between September 9, 1999 - April 30, 2008

Those who missed EYT by a hair’s breadth.

Normal Retirement:
- Woman: 58 Age + 7000 Days.
- Man: 60 Age + 7000 Days.
Retirement by Age (Partial): 25 years insurance + 4500 Days premium + Woman 58 / Man 60 age.

3. Third Period: After May 1, 2008

Post-reform period. Retirement age gradually increases to 65.

Premium: 7200 Days (SSK) / 9000 Days (Bag-Kur).
Age: Determined according to the date you complete 7200 days (Those completing until 2036 retire at 60/58, extends to 65 afterwards).
Retirement by Age: 5400 Days + 61/63 Age (Increases gradually).

4. Retirement with 3600 Days (Old System)

Valid only for SSK members entered before September 8, 1999.

15 years insurance + 3600 days premium.
Age condition: 50-58 for women, 55-60 for men (Changes according to date you complete 3600 days).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does internship insurance count as start? A: Unfortunately no. Only “work accident” premium is paid in internship, retirement premium is not paid. Therefore insurance start is not internship, but the first working day premium is paid on behalf. (Only in Birth Borrowing, internship date is accepted as start to pull back the borrowing period).

Q: My premium is full, can I work while waiting for age? A: Yes you can. You can leave the job by taking “Severance Pay” and enter job again.
